Each year Highland community groups join together for SMHAF Highland which aims to support the arts and challenge stigma and preconceived ideas about mental health. Organisations involved include Mikeysline, Befrienders Highland, Creativity In Care, Highland Mindfulness Group, Centred (formerly known as Birchwood Highland), High Life Highland (libraries), Connecting Carers, Lyth Arts Centre, N4H, North Coast Helping Hands, Inverness OpenArts, Green Tree Arts Studio, Tongue Walking Group, HUG (Action for Mental Health), Rag Tag n Textile (Skye), Ewen’s Room (Lochaber).

We are busy planning the 2024 festival – check back regularly for programme updates or follow us on Facebook! This year’s theme is “In/Visible”.
If your group or organisation would like to be involved, please contact us via smhafhighland@gmail.com

We are also hoping to arrange events around Mental Health Awareness Week (13 – 19 May 2024) when the theme is “Movement: Moving more for our mental health”.

The festival includes art exhibitions, creative sessions and poetry.

Enjoy a walk in nature to give your mental health a boost.

Films, live music, self-care workshops and much more.

Thanks to MacGregors Industrial Supplies Staff Charity Committee for their donation to the 2023 festival.
